Great Weekend @TheCreek

The Creek Church Family,

What an incredible weekend!  This past Thursday we kicked off our weekend early with Trunk or Treat and you all really showed up to glorify the name of Christ!  Including trunks and candy distributors, we had over 250 people in attendance, which is GREAT!  Thank you for all of your hard work to make this event such a success!!

Friday evening, Pastor Joe and his crew fed the Watauga High School Football Team, 55 players and coaches, not just fantastic food but also The Word of God!  Big thanks to all of those who helped with that!

Huge thank you to all those who helped out with the viewing and funeral for Emogene Miller.  It was a great blessing to see the church family come together and support this wonderful family during this difficult time.

Yesterday, was a great culmination to the weekend with over 200 people coming to the Worship Service.  We started with our small group Sunday school classes at 9:30 and dove into God’s Word together.

I am incredibly thankful that we had almost as many people in Sunday school as we did in the worship service.  If you aren’t already plugged into a class I would encourage you to do so, that is one of the best ways to get to know others!

Let me say, also, that worship was AWESOME!  We kicked it off with a bang, or should I say a quack, as we viewed the new advertisement for Operation Christmas Child (if you missed it, you can check it out HERE).  We also set our church goal for this year at 200 boxes by November 24th.  I can’t wait to see those boxes come rolling in!

We also continued our walk through the book of Galatians and saw how The Gospel + Anything=Nothing.  In the end, we were able to understand the vital importance of trusting the one True Gospel and how the best way to avoid distorting The Gospel is to be a student of the Word.  For those of you who are like me, I have included some tips and links to resources that may help as you begin (or continue) examining The Scriptures:

No matter what the source, remember to always approach the Scriptures with humble prayer and a reliance of the Holy Spirit to help guide your understanding.

Hope you are having a great week so far!!

Love you guys!!  For the Kingdom!

Pastor Chris
