“Paul, called by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and our brother Sosthenes,”
1 Corinthians 1:1
This past Sunday, I spoke 1 Corinthians 1:1-3, and how it is through the grace and peace of God that we (all believers) receive His call to do His will. We walked through the life and calling of Paul to understand that God has called us by His will to a loving relationship with Him to do His good will.
As a reminder for this week, I pray that we would remember that the God of the universe reached down from the heavens and called us unto Himself. We should be forever in awe of such an incredible act of grace. In response to His graciousness our lives should become a living sacrifice to do His good will (Ephesians 2:1-10). Paul was called by God to be an apostle. God had a plan for Paul that was much bigger than he could imagine. In the same way, God has a plan for us. He desires to get glory from our lives. He has called us unto Himself and we are to be what he has called us to be. Why? To bring glory and honor to Him through our life (1 Corinthians 10:31).
Remember our two questions from yesterday? “What is Jesus saying to me? What am I going to do in response?” So what has God called you to be? How is your life going to bring glory to Him this week?
